Property ManagementRealtor.com Tops June Traffic Report
July research reports from both Jupiter Media Matrix and Nielsen companies
confirm that REALTOR.com remains the number one real estate site in terms of
traffic statistics, property listings and time spent on the site by consumers
interested in buying or selling real estate, the National Association of
Realtors reported today.
The latest numbers from Jupiter Media Matrix for July 2001 show that
REALTOR.com received 4.349 million unique visits in July and carried more than
1.5 million listings. Equally important, the average visitor looked at 55 pages
and stayed on the site for more than 31 minutes.
Visitors to the closest competitor"s site looked at an average of only 10 pages
for a total of 4.2 minutes per visit. REALTOR.com ranks 31st among all Internet
sites in terms of page views, that is, total content viewed by persons using
the site, and 96th among all sites in terms of unique visitors, that is,
persons visiting the site at least once. By contrast, total content viewed by
visitors to the closest competitor site are ranked 393, indicating they
apparently do not remain on the site for very long. Compared to REALTOR.com ,
ranked 31st, the closest competitor ranks in 249th place in terms of unique
audience use.
July marks the 23rd consecutive month that REALTOR.com has remained the most
popular real estate-related Web site with consumers. The numbers are based on
objective measurements of total number of unique visits and total amount of
time spent on the network in July 2001.
"From its inception, REALTOR.com has been the most useful place to visit for
people interested in buying or selling real estate, thanks in large part to the
huge support the site receives from hundreds of thousands of Realtors ," said
NAR President Richard A. Mendenhall.
"The results of independent researchers show that our strategy to promote
and support the REALTOR.com site has worked well. NAR will continue to work to
continuously enhance the services offered to the public and to our members
through this site," he added.
